Description

The Drive Competitor II Semi Electric Bed motorizes the head and foot adjustments patients use every day, and sets the overall bed height with a positive-fit hand crank — a practical middle ground between a manual bed and a full-electric one. This package arrives with half rails and a fiber core mattress included, so the bed is ready to use the day it is set up.

  • Semi-electric: head and foot sections adjust by motor from the hand pendant
  • Bed height sets by hand crank with a positive-fit hexagonal connection
  • Slat deck gives no-sag mattress support with no links to connect
  • Glow-in-the-dark pendant with battery backup, power light and lock-out
  • Ultra-light head and foot frames weigh 41 lb each for one-person setup
  • Half rails and a fiber core mattress (15007) are included in this package

Electric Positioning with a Crank-Set Height

The Drive Competitor II Semi Electric Bed drives the head and foot sections with a self-contained motor worked from the large glow-in-the-dark pendant. Overall height is raised and lowered with the hand crank, whose positive-fit hexagonal connection engages securely every time. The slat deck supports the mattress without sagging and wipes clean, and the bed meets IEC 60601-2-52, 60601-1, 60601-1-2 and 60601-1-11 safety standards. The included half rails meet IEC entrapment guidelines on this bed, and the fiber core mattress completes the setup.

Why Choose the Drive Competitor II Semi Electric Bed?

The Competitor II is built for homes that want powered positioning without the cost of a full-electric bed. The adjustments made all day — head and foot — run off the pendant, while the crank-set height keeps the mechanism simple and dependable. At 41 lb per frame section, one person can deliver and assemble it. Bought bare, it is the clean starting point for the exact rail and mattress setup you need.

Manuals and Troubleshooting Guides

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in this package?

The bed frame with casters, a pair of half rails (155161HRAIL), and a fiber core mattress (15007). The mattress and rails are the versions Drive specifies for this package in its own configuration matrix.

Which adjustments are motorized?

The head and foot sections are motor-driven from the hand pendant. Overall bed height is set with the hand crank, which uses a positive-fit hexagonal connection.

What happens during a power failure?

A 9V battery located in the hand pendant (battery not included) lowers the head and foot sections to a horizontal position. Two additional batteries can be installed in the motor housing to increase adjustment speed and extend battery life.

Are casters included?

Yes. The bare Competitor II Semi Electric Bed ships as the frame with casters, so it can be rolled into position.

Can one person set this bed up?

Yes. The head and foot frames weigh only 41 lb each, making one-person transport and assembly realistic, and the slat deck has no links to connect.

Which rails fit this bed?

Drive's full and half rails made for the 15561/15571 beds fit this frame and meet IEC entrapment guidelines; they are also backward compatible with the 15560 and 15570 Competitor beds. Rails are sold separately.

How much weight can the bed hold?

The patient weight capacity is 350 lb and the total weight capacity is 450 lb, evenly distributed — that total includes the occupant, mattress, side rails, trapeze, accessories and personal effects.
