Description

The DermaRite HydraLock SA Dressing uses a super absorbent polymer core that locks wound fluid into a gel and does not hand it back under pressure. That lock-in behavior is what heavily exuding wounds actually need at 2 a.m. Four sizes cover everything from small ulcers to large surgical sites.

  • SAP Gel Core – Super absorbent polymer locks fluid into a gel.
  • Holds Under Pressure – Locked fluid does not squeeze back onto skin.
  • Four Sizes – Coverage from 4 in x 4 in to 8 in x 12 in.

Super Absorbent Polymer Dressing for Heavy Exudate

HydraLock SA is a super absorbent dressing built around a super absorbent polymer (SAP) core. The core absorbs exudate and locks it into a gel, retaining fluid even under pressure instead of squeezing it back onto the skin. That retention protects the periwound area from the maceration that heavy drainage causes. The dressing manages heavily exuding wounds and is supplied sterile in four sizes from 3 in x 3 in to 6 in x 10 in, 10 per box. It serves as a high capacity primary or secondary dressing within the care plan.

Features and Benefits

SAP Core Technology

  • Fluid Lock-In – The super absorbent polymer core locks exudate into a gel inside the dressing.
  • Retention Under Pressure – Locked fluid stays in the dressing under pressure, protecting surrounding skin.
  • Heavy Exudate Capacity – Capacity is built for heavily exuding wounds that overwhelm foam and gauze.

Coverage Range

  • Four Sizes – Sizes from 4 in x 4 in to 8 in x 12 in cover small ulcers and large sites.
  • Sterile Dressings – Each dressing is sterile for open wound use.
  • Periwound Protection – Keeping fluid in the dressing lowers maceration risk at the wound edges.

Why Choose HydraLock SA

Absorbency numbers only matter if the fluid stays absorbed when the patient moves, sits or is compressed. HydraLock SA gels fluid inside an SAP core, so the dressing keeps its promise under real life pressure. For the heaviest draining wounds, that retention is the product.

  • Gel Locked Fluid – SAP gelation keeps exudate inside the dressing instead of on the skin.
  • Pressure Proof Retention – Fluid stays locked even under pressure, a common failure point of lesser absorbers.
  • Maceration Defense – Dry periwound skin preserves the tissue the next dressing needs to seal to.
  • Large Format Reach – The 6 in x 10 in size covers extensive wounds in a single dressing.
