Description

The DermaRite Petrolatum Gauze Dressing is fine mesh gauze impregnated with USP petrolatum, the classic non-adherent contact layer. It maintains moisture at the bed while letting excess fluid pass to a secondary dressing. Long strip formats cover large and linear wounds without patching.

  • Petrolatum Mesh – Fine mesh gauze impregnated with USP petrolatum.
  • Strip Formats – Narrow strips and a large 6 in x 36 in sheet.
  • Sterile and Latex Free – Sterile supply made without natural rubber latex.

Petrolatum Impregnated Fine Mesh Gauze

Petrolatum Gauze is a fine mesh gauze dressing impregnated with USP petrolatum. The petrolatum keeps the gauze from adhering to the wound, so removal does not disturb healing tissue, while the open mesh lets exudate pass through to a secondary absorbent dressing. The sterile dressings maintain a moist environment at the wound surface. Formats are strip oriented: a 3 in x 9 in strip, a 3 in x 18 in strip and a large 6 in x 36 in sheet for extensive coverage. The dressings are not made with natural rubber latex.

Why Choose Petrolatum Gauze

Petrolatum gauze is the contact layer clinicians have trusted for decades because it simply does not stick. This line leans into strip formats, including a 36 inch sheet, so large wounds and long incisions get one piece coverage. It is the economical non-adherent base layer for countless care plans.

  • Trusted Non-Adherence – Petrolatum impregnation is the classic way to keep gauze off the wound bed.
  • One Piece Large Coverage – A 6 in x 36 in sheet covers what would otherwise take several small dressings.
  • Pass-Through Design – Exudate moves to the secondary dressing instead of pooling under the mesh.
  • Sterile and Latex Free – Sterile supply with no natural rubber latex suits broad patient use.
