Description

The FlexTilt is a tilt-in-space wheelchair that pairs 25 degrees of tilt with 30 degrees of recline, so pressure can be shifted off the seat without moving the resident to a bed. Its pressure relief strapping supports the body across the seat instead of concentrating weight on a cushion alone.

  • Tilt and Recline – 25 degrees of tilt plus 30 degrees of recline give two ways to shift pressure during long sits
  • Pressure Relief Strapping – strapped support spreads load across the seat for pressure management
  • Vback Design – the back shape supports posture through the tilt range
  • Pivoting Arms – the arms move aside for side transfers into and out of the chair
  • Built-In Length Extender – the frame adjusts as the resident's needs change over time

Residents who sit for most of the day need pressure relief that does not depend on standing transfers, and this chair builds that relief into the seat itself. The steel frame, built from 11 to 16 gauge sections, carries residents up to 350 lb. Seat widths of 16, 20 and 24 inches pair with a seat depth of 16.5 to 18 inches and a seat height of 19.5 to 21.5 inches, so the chair can be fitted to the resident rather than the other way around. Steering casters help one caregiver move the chair through halls and doorways. Optional accessories include a footbucket, lap belts, trays, an IV and oxygen holder and stabilizer bars.

Why Choose the FlexTilt

Most seating plans treat tilt chairs and recliners as different products, so a resident whose needs change ends up in a second chair. This one carries both motions in a single frame, with strapping support that works through the whole range. It comes from a bed manufacturer that builds for long hours of supported positioning, and that shows in the details.

  • Two Motions, One Chair – tilt and recline together give caregivers more pressure relief choices at every sit
  • Support Without a Stack of Cushions – the strapping system spreads load across the seat by design
  • Fitted, Not Approximate – three seat widths and adjustable depth and height match the chair to the resident
  • Transfers Stay Simple – pivoting arms clear the way for side transfers at the bed or toilet

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the weight capacity?
The chair is rated for residents up to 350 lb. The steel frame is built from 11 to 16 gauge sections.

What seat widths are available?
Seat widths are 16, 20 and 24 inches. Seat depth adjusts from 16.5 to 18 inches and seat height from 19.5 to 21.5 inches.

How much tilt and recline does it have?
The chair tilts 25 degrees in space and reclines 30 degrees. Using both motions through the day shifts pressure without a transfer to bed.

Which accessories can be added?
Factory options include the WC19 Transport Package, a footbucket, lap belts and trays. An IV and oxygen holder and stabilizer bars are also available.

How do transfers work with the arms?
The arms pivot aside for side transfers. That clears the seat edge for a sliding board or a stand assist.

Is the chair easy to move between rooms?
Steering casters are fitted for that purpose. One caregiver can guide the chair through standard halls and doorways.
