Description
The Bionix Lighted Ear Curette puts light and magnification at the tip, so clinicians can see the ear canal while they work instead of curetting blind. Eight tip styles cover everything from soft wax in small pediatric canals to firmer impactions in adults.
- Eight tip styles – loops, spoons, scoops and a pik from 2mm to 4mm
- Standard and clinic packs – 50-count boxes or 200-count clinic packs with four light sources
- Light in every pack – each box includes a light source and a magnification lens
See the Canal While You Curette
Each curette combines a disposable tip with a bright light source and a magnification lens, illuminating the canal and enlarging the view at the same time. The line is indicated for impacted cerumen and for foreign bodies occluding the ear canal. Eight styles span the common shapes and sizes, from the 2mm InfantScoop for small canals to the 4mm FlexLoop and AngleLoop for general adult work. The shared light source is designed to provide light for 50 curettage procedures, so one source covers a full standard box. Standard packs hold 50 curettes in a single pouch, while clinic packs hold 200 as four pouches of 50 for high-volume sites. The variety packs mix the styles in one box, with 8 FlexLoop and 7 of each other style in the standard pack.

Why Clinicians Choose the Lighted Ear Curette Line
Blind curettage is slow and uncomfortable for the patient. This line replaces guesswork with a lit, magnified view, and its two pack sizes let a practice stock the same tips whether it does a few removals a week or runs a dedicated ear clinic.
- Faster procedures – seeing the wax and the canal wall shortens each removal
- Less patient discomfort – guided tip placement avoids scraping blindly in a sensitive canal
- One system, eight tips – the whole style range shares one light source and lens platform
- Clinic-ready volume – 200-count clinic packs cut reorder frequency for busy ENT and urgent care sites
Frequently Asked Questions
What is this curette indicated for?
It is indicated for cases of impacted cerumen and for foreign bodies occluding the ear canal.
What is the difference between standard and clinic packs?
Standard packs hold 50 curettes with 1 light source and 1 magnification lens. Clinic packs hold 200 curettes as four pouches of 50, with 4 light sources and 4 lenses.
How long does the light source last?
The light source is designed to provide light for 50 curettage procedures, matching a full standard box. Replacement light sources and lenses are sold separately.
Are the curettes sterile or individually wrapped?
No. The curettes are non-sterile and come in a single pouch per 50 for easy access, because ear curettage is not performed in a sterile field.
Which tip styles are in the variety pack?
The standard variety pack holds 50 curettes: 8 FlexLoop and 7 each of the other styles, covering all tip styles except CeraPik. The clinic variety pack scales the same mix to 200.
Is a procedure code associated with curettage?
Bionix notes curettage is commonly submitted under CPT 69210 for cerumen removal and 69200 for foreign body removal. Coding and coverage decisions rest with the provider.
