Description
The Bionix Lighted Forceps for Foreign Body Removal combines illumination and magnification with grasping forceps, for faster and more comfortable cleaning of the ear canal and nasal cavity. The forceps are indicated for removing leafy or soft foreign bodies from the external ear canal or the nares.
- Grasp under light – illumination and magnification at the forceps tip
- Ear and nose – one tool for both foreign body sites
- Refills available – replacement forceps keep the light source working
See It, Then Grasp It
Foreign body removal fails when the clinician cannot see what the forceps are closing on. This tool lights and magnifies the target while the forceps grasp it, so soft or leafy objects in the ear canal or nose can be removed under direct view. The forceps accommodate an object up to 5mm round. The lighted set includes 10 forceps with a light source and magnification lens, and the light source is designed for more than 50 procedures across the Bionix lighted line. Replacement forceps are sold without the light source for sets that already have one. The forceps are packaged in two bags of five and are not sterile.

Why Providers Reach for Lighted Forceps
A headlamp lights the room, not the canal. Putting the light and the lens on the instrument itself keeps the view and the grasp in the same line of sight, which is where foreign body removals are won or lost.
- Fewer failed grasps – seeing the object and the jaws together improves first-pass removal
- More comfortable patients – guided removal shortens probing in the ear and nose
- Refill economics – replacement forceps keep the shared light source in service
- Ear and nose in one tool – one instrument covers the two common foreign body sites
