Description

The DermaRite DermaCol/Ag Collagen Dressing adds ionic silver and EDTA to the collagen blend for chronic wounds carrying bioburden concerns. It gels on contact with exudate, forming a soft sheet over the wound bed. One dressing brings collagen scaffolding, silver and absorption together.

  • Silver Chloride Blend – Ionic silver joins collagen, alginate, CMC and EDTA.
  • Gelling Sheet – Forms a soft, conformable gel sheet on contact with exudate.
  • Sterile Supply – Ten sterile dressings per box in two sizes.

Collagen Silver Dressing for Bioburden and Exudate

DermaCol/Ag combines collagen, sodium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose, EDTA and silver chloride in a sterile dressing for chronic wounds. On contact with wound exudate it forms a soft, conformable gel sheet that can be cut to fit the wound site. The silver chloride provides topical antimicrobial support while the collagen and EDTA combination addresses the chronic wound environment. The dressing is indicated for pressure, venous and diabetic ulcers, partial and full thickness wounds, surgical and trauma wounds, first and second degree burns, wounds that are prone to bleeding, and wounds that may require debridement. It requires a secondary dressing and is supplied 10 per box.

Why Choose DermaCol/Ag

Chronic wounds with bioburden concerns ask for more than a scaffold. DermaCol/Ag layers silver chloride and EDTA onto the collagen alginate blend, so one application covers scaffolding, antimicrobial support and exudate gelling. It replaces a stack of single purpose products in the chronic wound protocol.

  • Silver Plus Collagen – Antimicrobial silver and collagen scaffolding arrive in a single sterile dressing.
  • EDTA Difference – EDTA is part of the chronic wound blend, a component plain collagen sheets do not carry.
  • Conforming Gel – The soft gel sheet it forms follows the wound bed closely.
  • Bleeding Wound Indication – It is indicated even for wounds prone to bleeding, widening its place in the protocol.
