Description

The DermaRite DermaCol Collagen Dressing blends collagen with sodium alginate, CMC and EDTA in one sterile sheet. On contact with exudate it becomes a soft gel sheet that hugs the wound bed. It is the collagen workhorse for chronic wounds with light to heavy drainage.

  • Four Ingredient Blend – Collagen with sodium alginate, CMC and EDTA in one sheet.
  • Gels Into Place – Transforms into a soft gel sheet over the wound bed.
  • Wide Drainage Range – Suits chronic wounds with light to heavy exudate.

Collagen Blend Sheet That Gels on Contact

DermaCol is a sterile collagen wound dressing composed of collagen, sodium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). When the sheet meets wound exudate, it transforms into a soft, conformable gel that covers the wound bed and can be cut to fit the wound site. The blend is built for chronic wounds with light to heavy exudate, including diabetic, venous and pressure ulcers. It requires a secondary dressing to hold it in place. Each box contains 10 sterile sheets in 2 in x 2 in or 4 in x 4 in sizes.

Features and Benefits

Four Part Blend

  • Collagen Base – Collagen provides the scaffold at the heart of the dressing.
  • Alginate and CMC – Sodium alginate and carboxymethylcellulose drive the gelling, absorbent behavior.
  • EDTA Component – EDTA completes a blend formulated for the chronic wound environment.

Application Practicality

  • Gel Transformation – The sheet becomes a soft gel on contact with exudate, conforming to the bed.
  • Cut to Fit – Sheets can be cut to fit the wound site before application.
  • Light to Heavy Exudate – One dressing family covers chronic wounds across a wide drainage range.

Why Choose DermaCol

Pure collagen sheets do not absorb much, and plain alginates bring no collagen to the bed. DermaCol merges the two ideas, then adds EDTA, in a sheet that gels into place. For chronic wounds with real drainage, it is the balanced middle of the collagen line.

  • Blend Beats Single Material – Collagen, alginate and CMC each cover a weakness of the others.
  • Gels Into Place – The soft gel sheet conforms to the bed instead of tenting over it.
  • Wide Exudate Range – Light to heavy drainage keeps one product across the wound’s changing course.
  • Sterile and Cuttable – Sterile sheets trim to size, so stock stays simple.
