Description
The HemoCue WBC Analyzer delivers a total white blood cell count at the point of care in about three minutes. A 10 µL capillary or venous sample is stained and counted by an imaging system inside the analyzer. Infection workups no longer wait on a central-lab CBC when the first question is simply whether the white count is high, low or normal.
- Three-minute count – total WBC results within 3 minutes of inserting the microcuvette
- Imaging technology – white cells are stained and counted by an imaging system
- Wide range – 0.3 to 30.0 x 10^9/L covers low through markedly elevated counts
A Total White Cell Count Where the Patient Is
The analyzer images stained white cells in the microcuvette and counts them directly, rather than estimating from a surrogate signal. Its range of 300 to 30,000 cells per microliter covers leukopenia through strong infection responses. The system is factory calibrated, runs a built-in self-test, and accepts optional liquid controls for documented QC. Six AA batteries or the power adapter keep it working in clinics, urgent care centers and field settings. A printer and PC interface support result records where a paper trail is required.
Features and Benefits

Why Urgent Care Relies on the WBC Analyzer
The first branch point in many infection workups is the white count, and waiting hours for it changes disposition decisions. A three-minute count at the bedside supports antibiotic and referral decisions during the same visit.
- Same-visit triage – a count in 3 minutes informs treatment before the patient leaves
- True cell count – imaging counts stained white cells directly instead of estimating
- Deployable anywhere – battery power suits urgent care, clinics and remote field sites

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it give a differential?
No. It reports a total white blood cell count. A differential still requires laboratory analysis when clinically indicated.
Which microcuvettes does it use?
It uses the dedicated WBC Microcuvettes, stocked separately.
Does it need calibration?
No. The system is factory calibrated and needs no further calibration.
What quality control is supported?
A built-in self-test checks the system, and optional liquid controls can be run for documented verification.
What package is sold here?
This listing is the analyzer alone, sold as listed in its Each package configuration. Microcuvettes are stocked separately.
